The West Mill Derbyshire Wedding Video | Louise + Adam
Louise and Adam’s wedding at the West Mill in Derbyshire was great fun to film. The wedding video includes some of the best wedding video drone shots I think we’ve ever managed to get. Whilst much of our wedding videography takes place in the Cotswolds it’s always a joy to discover unique places beyond the Cotswolds borders; The West Mill, Derby was one of those unique places that made for a sublime wedding venue.
Louise and Adam had been eyeing us to video their wedding since we filmed friends of theirs back in 2012. It’s always nice getting those friend recommendations and these days it’s where most of our wedding videography work comes from. Louise and Adam went for our Humphrey Bogart package plus some drone footage which is one of our most popular wedding video packages.
Matt and Mark were the videographers on the day and as usual, for a wedding further than 2 hours from us, we stayed locally to the wedding the night before. We don’t like to take any risks with travel on the morning of our weddings. On the morning of the wedding Matt headed over to film some bride preparation at Adam and Louise’s house in Derby. Meanwhile Mark was busy getting some location shots at the West Mill – including some of those incredible aerials shots.
The ceremony took place at Adam and Louise’s local church and was your typical church wedding. Adam had the look of your typical groom; unable to hide the nerves. Louise looked stunning, arriving with her father in a beautiful wedding car. Whilst Mark filmed the guests inside the church, Matt was outside filming the Louise’s arrival. Once again proving that the benefits of having more than 1 videographer are huge.
Post Ceremony and the guests headed back to the West Mill by London Red bus. It was then drinks and canapes for guest whilst we got to business capturing all those location shots using our drone, track and dolly system and Steadicam. All of which adds some really high-end production values to the wedding video and was something Adam and Louise were really keen on. At the same time we also captured some great shots of guests mingling. I loved the setting for the wedding breakfast, so quirky and spacious but at the same time nicely intimate.
The wedding speeches were good fun and helped by the large screens that Adam and his team had set-up (Adam runs his own audio visual company). The screens were also linked to the hashtag #adamandlouise so all those wedding pics taken and posted on Twitter and Instagram were shown on the screens throughout the day. A very cool touch.
Adam and Louise were over the moon with the final wedding videos. They sent a really lovely card thanking us for our videography work and we hope to be back at the West Mill in Derbyshire sometime soon.
